Tameka Baba is the founder and creative director of Fabricated Landscapes Lab. She is also an Assistant Professor of Practice in Landscape Architecture at The Ohio State University's Knowlton School.

Her work focuses on the reclamation and transformation of underutilized and abandoned urban spaces, with a commitment to creating welcoming, community-centered public landscapes. By incorporating traditional textile techniques—including weaving, sewing, and other forms of handcraft—into her design process, Baba uses making as both a method of design inquiry and a tool for reimagining how people experience and care for public space. Her interdisciplinary practice bridges art, ecology, and landscape architecture, resulting in innovative landscape interventions that emphasize collaboration, long-term stewardship, and collective care.

Most recently, Baba was awarded the Garden Club of America and Prince Charitable Trusts Rome Prize in Landscape Architecture, completing a ten-month fellowship at the American Academy in Rome. During her residency, she developed Urban Tapestry: Exploring Soft Density in Rome's Public Spaces, a research project investigating weaving as both a metaphor and design methodology for reimagining historic urban landscapes. While in Italy, her installation Site Unscreened was presented as part of the United States Pavilion's finissage programming at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale, and her work was featured in a solo exhibition at Temple University Rome.

Beyond her creative practice and teaching, Baba has served on the City of Columbus Historic Resources Commission and as a Board Trustee for the Center for Architecture and Design, where she chaired the Youth Programs Committee. She holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies from Kent State University's College of Architecture and Environmental Design.
